The HVAC industry is one that encompasses heating, ventilation, air conditioning and sometimes refrigeration. There are lots of opportunities for professionals to earn and advance in this industry. To become a professional who works on air conditioners, you will need specialized training. First, you will need to make sure you have a high school diploma or GED. After that, you may want to attend some classes on HVAC certification at your local trade school or community college. Many technicians actually apprentice with an experienced professional and receive on the job training. When combined with the proper education this can be an effective way to learn the ropes. There are various exams and certifications you can receive to increase your earnings and areas of expertise.

Because there is always a need for heating and cooling in homes and businesses, the job outlook is good. There are countless air conditioning jobs out there, which can be found via online job sites, local employment agencies and help wanted classified ads. Depending on your experience, certifications and geographic location, you can expect to make anywhere from around $25,000 to upwards of $50,000 per year in this industry. One of the best things about an HVAC career is that there are a lot options. You can work for an employer or go into business for yourself. You can specialize in home heating and cooling or go industrial. The demand, the pay and the many job options available make this industry quite attractive for many men and women seeking an exciting and rewarding new career.
